One of the most famous towers in East London invites you to an open house weekend.
The Balfron Tower in poplar was completed in 1967. His unmistakable style is the work of Erno Goldfinger, perhaps more famous for the Trellick Tower in western London and inspired by the name of a Bond villain.
The 27-storey heritage listed building is undergoing renovations and is expected to be completed in 2020. The visit will take place on the 21st of September. You get an impressive view of East London and have access to two apartments.
The tours will be held as part of Open House London, an annual event where hundreds of London's normally-closed buildings are open for exploration.
The booking starts on the 20th of August. If you are interested, you should now set up a reminder, as the tickets are readily available. The rest of the program will be announced the same day. However, if you perform a sophisticated search on Eventbrite, you can already find some of the venues that require prior reservation.
